COMMUNITY GROUP

The Westover Green Community Group is a group of adult volunteers who aim to support the school financially through fund raising and at extra curricular events. In addition to the annual Christmas and summer fairs the group organises discos for Key Stage 1 & 2 and helps behind the scenes at the schools' annual shows.

The Group is now in its sixth year and has raised in excess of £12,000. As a result it has been able to donate many things to the school such as -

• Staging for school shows
  
• PA and audio system
  
• Books for school library
  
• Anniversary mugs
  
• School PE kit
  
• Boom boxes for 'Wake and shake"
  
• Art boxes for each class
  
• Coaches for school trips
  
• Various donations for After School Club
  
• Plus many other smaller items

This February, as a result of the group's fundraising, the children will get the opportunity to participate in a 'Bollywood' Dance Workshop.

The group is now embarking on a major project for 2008 which is raising funds for 'the enhancement of both school playgrounds'. Whilst this may take up most of the money raised over the next year the group will still look to give small donations and welcomes suggestions from all connected with the school.
