NETBALL - Netball Club runs every Monday from September to February. Friendly matches are arranged against other local schools. Pupils also take part in a Tournament held at Haygrove School in the Spring Term. They also work towards passing badges by carrying out netball skills.

Bridgwater College Academy - Some netball players are selected from the Netball Club to attend Bridgwater College for an intensive 10-week course coached by Chris Durant with girls from Secondary Schools in the Sedgemoor Alliance Group. This proves to be very successful and they seem to enjoy the vigorous training programme.

BOXING CLUB
Mr Paul Anthony, a registered Amateur Boxing Association coach and tutor who runs Sydenham Amateur Boxing Club is running a non-contact Boxing Cub at Westover Green on Mondays after school until 4:15pm in the school hall. Boxing skills such as co-ordination, fitness, stamina, defence and self control are combined into a fun packed energetic workout with pads, gloves, skipping ropes and other equipment provided.

GYMNASTICS
- A successful Gymnastics Club is available to all year groups on Tuesdays after school. The children follow the Gymnastics Programme and gain certificates from Grade 6 through to Grade 1. The children enjoy the challenge of working towards perfecting their techniques and are excited about gaining certificates as they progress.

ROUNDERS - This club is available to KS2 throughout the summer term and is a very popular extra-curricular club. A wide range of ages and abilities attend the Club and all children are enthusiastic about being part of the team. They are entered into a Tournament held at St Mary's School and also participate in friendly matches. The children really enjoy rounders and work tremendously hard to gain a place in the team. Inter-house rounder matches are organised where the children take control of their teams by selecting a captain and playing a KO Competition for an overall winner.

ATHLETICS - Children from Year 3 to Year 6 (approx 35 children in total) work towards Area Sports held at St Mary's School. Again this is a popular Club where children have to trial for a place in the team. The children take part in sprints and relay races and also participate in field events - throwing, long jump. Each year we are awarded with a range of certificates from 1st position to 3rd position. A very successful club for the school.

KWIK CRICKET - A team of boys (mainly Y5/Yr6) participate in a Tournament held at East Huntspill Cricket Ground. This is a KO Competition against other Sedgemoor Schools.

DANCE CLUB - Held every Friday after school. This Club is supported well and the Dancers have performed in numerous shows around Bridgwater - Town Hall, Chilton School and Angel Place Shopping Arcade. The club has gone from strength to strength and there is a waiting list for people to join.

DRAMA CLUB - This club is held every Thursday after school and is popular for budding actors and actresses. The club's last production was a musical version of The Wizard of Oz which was performed at Haygrove School. Over 60 children were involved in this production, including children from Dance Club and the Choir

TRANSITION GROUP - This is held on a Tuesday evening after school at Chilton Trinity School and involves Year 6 children. They are involved in multi-skills events and are provided with meeting children from other primary schools in the area who they meet when they transfer to comprehensive schools.

Maths Club is held every Friday lunchtime in Apple Class and is open to all year groups. Maths Club provides a great opportunity for children to play maths games, use the interactive whiteboard and solve problems, as well as meet and play with other children. We aim to have fun!
